5. What if my vehicle fails?
You don't need to worry if you will pass because the failure rate is less than 20%. If your vehicle doesn't pass the emissions test you will receive the Drive Clean test results in the form of a Vehicle Inspection Report and an information pamphlet. The inspector can explain the emission results on the Vehicle Inspection Report, but cannot explain the reason(s) for failure. Do not leave the Drive Clean Facility without your Vehicle Inspection Report and the pamphlet. It is recommended you do not pay for another Drive Clean test until a diagnostic and any necessary repairs have been completed.
6. What is a diagnostic?
A diagnostic is a number of test performed on your vehicle to determine reasons why it did not meet the emissions standards. In order to determine specific causes, the diagnostic must be performed. The diagnostic is not included in the Drive Clean test and involves an additional fee of $70 and is counted toward the Repair Cost Limit. Once a diagnostic is completed, the certified repair technician can explain the possible reasons for the failure and make recommendations. |
